The FYFL/FYCL, Fernley Youth Football League and Fernley Youth Cheer League, is a Youth Tackle Football and Cheer organization for all children between the ages of 5 and 14. The FYFL/FYCL works closely with the high schools as a feeder program. We work with athletic directors and high school coaches to ensure our players and cheerleaders are learning skills that will benefit them as they transition into high school sports. Our participants are divided into teams based on age level as of July 31. The idea behind this is to keep kids together that will be playing and cheering together in high school which brings many benefits to the participants, parents, and the high schools. The sooner children engage in the program, they are able to strengthen and sharpen their skills over the course of many years as opposed to trying to “catch up” when they reach the sport in high school.

The Reno Ronald McDonald House, the flagship program of Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada, opened in 1987. The House welcomes families living more than 30 miles away from Reno who have a child receiving treatment at a local hospital or clinic. Through their five community outreach programs they address the health and education needs of children in our community. Those programs include: Travel for Treatment (1992), the RMHC® U.S. Scholarship Program (2000), the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile (2003) and the Ronald McDonald Family Room (2012). Since opening our doors in 1987, the House has hosted more than 7,870 families ranging from northern Nevada and California areas to international destinations.
